This painting came to us in need of some attention. It was not terrible, but it had some small holes right through the canvas, the canvas was somewhat rippled, and it was also in need of some cleaning. The other challenge was that the canvas was not tacked to the oval wooden stretcher. It had some rips along the stretcher sides with the canvas and was completely off the stretcher in those areas. The painting needed to be completely removed.
All in all, the canvas removal, repairs to the small holes and rips, and the cleaning and in-painting went well, and this beautiful portrait came to life very nicely. We did a little work on the frame and put it all back together, for a lovely looking portrait that the customer would be proud to show in their home.
